What the extension does with your information.

The short version
Nothing is collected. There is no server behind this extension, no account, no analytics, no tracking, and no third party. Everything it reads stays in your browser.
What it reads
When you press the button, it reads the list of accounts the signed-in X account follows, and for each one whether they follow you back, their name, handle, profile picture and whether they have a blue check. It reads this from x.com, using the session already signed in on your machine. It does this only when you press the button.
What it keeps, and where
Two things, both saved by your own browser in its local storage on x.com. The first is the result of your last check: the accounts you follow, their names, handles and pictures, whether each one follows you back, and which ones you have already unfollowed. It is kept so that closing the panel or coming back tomorrow does not mean reading thousands of accounts again, and so the tool can offer to carry on where you left off. The second is the list of handles that followed you back at the time, which is what lets the next check tell you who has dropped you since.
Neither ever leaves your computer. Nothing is uploaded, and there is nowhere for it to go. Clearing your browser data for x.com removes both, and pressing Check again from X replaces the stored check with a fresh one.
What it sends, and to whom
Requests go to x.com and nowhere else. It sends nothing to thexalgorithmbook.com, nothing to any analytics service, and nothing to any other company. There is no telemetry, no crash reporting and no usage counting of any kind. You can confirm this with the Network tab of your browser's developer tools while it runs.
What it changes
It unfollows an account when you press the unfollow button beside that account, and only then. It never posts, replies, likes, follows, reads messages, or changes any setting on your account.
Where it runs
On x.com only. It is not permitted to run on any other website, which you can check in Chrome under the extension's Site access before you install it.
Children
X requires its users to be 13 or older, and this extension is for people using their own X account. It is not directed at children.
Changes to this page
If the extension ever starts doing something this page does not describe, this page changes first and the date at the top changes with it. If it ever started collecting anything, that would be a new extension, not an update to this one.
